RUSH To Announce 40 More Shows?

October 30, 2007

RUSH fan site Power Windows reports: RUSH's "Snakes & Arrows" tour kicked off June 3 in Atlanta, Georgia, and came to a close October 29 in Helsinki Finland. The sixth highest US tour gross of the summer with $21 million, third among rock acts, over 38 shows RUSH had an attendance of 399,000 with 67% of seats filled according to USA Today. To commemorate the tour, the band filmed a live concert DVD in Rotterdam October 16-17, likely to be released in time for the 2008 holiday season.

Although the tour is over, there have been rumors that RUSH will tour again from April through July of 2008, hitting the East Coast and areas in the South and Southwest which were passed up on the first leg of the tour, as well as possible dates in South America and Asia. In a recent interview, guitarist Alex Lifeson stated, "we'll be touring this album until next summer, when I think we'll have done 110 shows." As the current tour included 64 dates over six months, this means that RUSH may add up to 46 more dates spanning four months before the "Snakes & Arrows" tour is done.

"Snakes & Arrows" was released on CD May 1, as a double album on June 19, as well as the new MVI (Music Video Interactive) format on June 26. In the UK, a "Special UK Tour Edition" was released September 3, essentially as a two-disc counterpart to the MVI; both include 96kHz/24 bit hi-resolution stereo as well as 5.1 surround sound; "Rush: The Game Of Snakes & Arrows" 45-minute documentary on the making of the album; digital extras including wallpapers, buddy icons, screensavers, and more.
